Looking for places to stay for Eurovision 2027 in Burgas? The shows are on 11, 13 and 15 May 2027 at Arena Burgas, and the city on its own has far fewer beds than that week will need. The good news is that Burgas sits in the middle of a bay lined with seaside towns, each within about an hour of the arena. This guide takes them one by one, with rough distances and an honest note on what each is like in May.

First, where the arena is
Arena Burgas stands in the Izgrev district, on the western side of the city, about 3 km from the centre and around 10 km from Burgas Airport. Izgrev is a residential neighbourhood: handy on show nights, quiet the rest of the time, and short on hotels. Whether there will be official shuttles, and where the Eurovision Village will be, had not been announced when we wrote this in early October 2026. The times below are ordinary driving times. Expect them to stretch on show nights.
Burgas centre and the Sea Garden
About 3 km from the arena, roughly ten minutes by taxi. This is the obvious choice: pedestrian streets, cafés, the long Sea Garden park above the beach, and the main bus and railway stations. It is also where demand landed first. A day after the host city was announced, bTV's business desk (quoted by Novinite on 14 August) found almost everything listed for 11–15 May booked or withdrawn, with some of the remaining offers above €4,000 a night. Good for: anyone who finds a fairly priced room and wants to walk everywhere. Drawback: price and scarcity.
Sarafovo and the airport side
Sarafovo is a seaside neighbourhood of Burgas, about 10 km from the centre and less than 1 km from the airport, with a wide sandy beach of its own. The arena is around 10 km away. Good for: late arrivals and early flights. Drawback: it is small, the same press reports put its rates for the week at €1,300–1,500 a night, and you still need a ride to the arena.
Pomorie
A town on a narrow peninsula about 20 km from Burgas, on the north side of the bay, known for its salt lake, mud treatments and wine. By car it is roughly 20–25 minutes from the city. It has a good stock of hotels and guesthouses and is close to the airport. Good for: the shortest commute from outside the city. Drawback: more spa town than holiday town, and being so near, it is likely to fill early.
Chernomorets
A small resort town about 24 km south-east of Burgas, on the road to Sozopol; the bus takes around half an hour. It is mostly guesthouses and family hotels around a couple of beaches. Good for: a simple, quiet base on the south side. Drawback: like most small resorts it is only just waking up in mid-May, and evenings are very quiet.
Sozopol
About 35 km south of Burgas. Sozopol is the oldest town on this coast, with a protected old quarter of timber houses on a rocky peninsula, a fishing harbour and beaches on both sides. Of all the options it is the one that feels most like a holiday in its own right. Good for: combining the contest with a few days by the sea. Drawback: the longest drive on the south side, and you have to arrange the late-night ride back yourself. We look at that trade-off in detail in why Sozopol makes sense for Eurovision 2027.
Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas
The bay north of Burgas: around 35 km from the city to Nessebar and Sunny Beach and a little more to Sveti Vlas, 40–50 minutes by car. Nessebar's old town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1983, Sunny Beach is the largest resort in the area, and Sveti Vlas has the marina. Good for: sheer capacity; this is where most of the beds are. Drawback: big resort hotels normally open for the summer, so check that the place you book really is operating in mid-May.
How to choose
- You want to walk to everything: Burgas centre, if you can get it at a fair price.
- You fly in late or out early: Sarafovo or Pomorie.
- You want the shortest drive from outside the city: Pomorie or Chernomorets.
- You want a holiday around the shows: Sozopol or Nessebar.
- You are a group: an apartment and one shared car, on either side of the bay.
Whatever you pick, two rules apply everywhere. Read the cancellation terms, because official tickets are not on sale yet and nobody knows which show they will get. And sort out the night ride before you travel: the live shows end after midnight local time, when regular buses have stopped.
Where Dream BG comes in
We are a family-run business with apartments on both sides of the bay. In Sozopol they are inside the Santa Marina holiday village, about 2 km from the old town, in a complex with pools and gardens; each has an equipped kitchen, air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and most have a balcony or terrace. We also look after apartments in Nessebar and Sveti Vlas. You book directly with us, so there is a real person to ask about a late check-in or where to leave the car.
May is outside our usual summer calendar, so we would rather give you a straight answer than a promise. Send your dates and the size of your group through the availability page or the contact page, and we will tell you what we can offer for Eurovision week. No payment is taken at the request stage.
