Sozopol Town

Sozopol is probably the earliest settled area of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. This perfect historical city with rich cultural heritage attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Founded in the 7th century BC as a Greek colony named Apollonia Pontica, Sozopol is one of the oldest towns in Bulgaria. The Old Town peninsula is a UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate and features beautifully preserved 19th-century wooden houses.

The town hosts the famous Apollonia Arts Festival every September, drawing artists and culture enthusiasts from around the world. The local cuisine is excellent, with fresh seafood being a specialty in the numerous waterfront restaurants.
